Recap - Huskies Defeat Rutgers 48-13

Washington cruised to victory on Saturday, as they ran up a 48-13 score against Rutgers in Week 1 action at Husky Stadium.

The Huskies were a -25.0-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 57.0.

Myles Gaskin rushed for 57 yards, while Jomon Dotson added 27 yards in the win. John Ross and Darrell Daniels added 90 and 64 receiving yards respectively.

Josh Hicks rushed for 70 yards for Rutgers, while Justin Goodwin added 49 yards. Chris Laviano threw for 168 yards for the Scarlet Knights, while receivers Janarion Grant and Justin Goodwin had 56 and 46 yards respectively.

Rutgers lost the offensive yardage battle to Washington 380-304 yards in Saturday's game. Rutgers had more first downs as that total ended up 21-17.

The time of possession battle favored Rutgers as their offense was on the field for 33:15, longer than the 26:45 of their opponents.

Next game, Washington takes its act home to face Idaho looking for another win. For Rutgers, they head home to face Howard.
