Wake Forest Falls 41-24 to Orange - Recap
Eric Dungey scampered through the Wake Forest defense for 119 yards as Syracuse handed the Demon Deacons a 41-24 defeat on Saturday at BB&T Field.
Syracuse was the ATS victor, as they covered the -6.5-point spread as a favorite. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 77.5 were rewarded at the payout window.
Eric Dungey rushed for 119 yards, while Moe Neal added 67 yards in the win. Sean Riley and Jamal Custis added 64 and 62 receiving yards respectively.
Matt Colburn rushed for 67 yards for Wake Forest, while Sam Hartman added 51 yards. Sam Hartman threw for 275 yards for the Demon Deacons, while receivers Greg Dortch and Sage Surratt had 95 and 56 yards respectively.
Wake Forest outgained Syracuse 434-421 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 26-25 by the Demon Deacons.
Wake Forest lost the time of possession battle 37:48-22:12, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Syracuse looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Louisville. Wake Forest will aim to get back on the winning track at NC State.
