Western Kentucky Defeats Vanderbilt 14-12 - Recap

Tyler Higbee was good for 102 receiving yards on Thursday as the Hilltoppers grabbed a 14-12 win over the Commodores at Vanderbilt Stadium.

Even though Western Kentucky won, nobody won at the betting window as the game was a push (based on the closing point spread of -2.0. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 60.0.

Leon Allen rushed for 56 yards, while D'Andre Ferby added 14 yards in the win. Tyler Higbee and Taywan Taylor added 102 and 40 receiving yards respectively.

Ralph Webb rushed for 70 yards for Vanderbilt, while Johnny McCrary added 66 yards. Johnny McCrary threw for 217 yards for the Commodores, while receivers Trent Sherfield and Kris Kentera had 63 and 48 yards respectively.

Western Kentucky lost the offensive yardage battle to Vanderbilt 393-247 yards in Thursday's game. Vanderbilt had more first downs as that total ended up 20-11.

The time of possession battle favored Vanderbilt as their offense was on the field for 36:39, longer than the 23:21 of their opponents.

Next game, Western Kentucky takes its act home to face Louisiana Tech looking for another win. For Vanderbilt, they head home to face Georgia.
